Jadukata-Rakti is a transboundary river recognized by the Joint River Commission (JRC) located in the Northeastern Region of Bangladesh. The river originates in India and enters Bangladesh through Badaghat Union of Tahirpur Upazila of Sunamganj district under the name Jadukata-Rakti and flows into Surma River under the name Rakti in Sachna Bazar Union of Jamalganj Upazila of the same district. Due to erosion, the river has widened and its flow has increased compared to earlier conditions. In hilly regions, the river water occasionally overflows its banks, inundating the floodplain temporarily. Farmers residing along the riverbanks rely on this river for irrigation during the dry season.
