Dhaleswari is an inland river in the north-central region of Bangladesh. Dhaleswari is an important distributary of the Brahmaputra-Jamuna River. The river originates from the Brahmaputra/Jamuna River in Sadia Chandpur Union of Chauhali Upazila of Sirajganj District and flows through Tangail, Manikganj, and Dhaka Districts before joining the Meghna (Upper) River in Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganj District. The river is connected to the Bangshi, Gazikhali, Ichamati (Munshiganj), and Buriganga Rivers. The river is affected by tidal currents and is prone to flooding and erosion. This river is a Class II waterway as defined by the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA).
